Painting: Sheep
Sheep
24″ x 12″
canvas, unframed
€225 €165 SOLD
S&H €15
This is called simply Sheep not because it’s like a Star Trek reboot of my sheep paintings, but because it’s the first painting of sheep I started - having begun it years, yes years, before Sheep, Stone Wall and Sheep, Stone Wall II.
I like shapes. I like sheeps. The words are so similar I can’t help but paint them. Or pictures of them at any rate. They surrounded the cottage I lived in briefly in Donegal, and I’m told there’s some possibly coming to the grounds where my studio is. Either way, I’ll be painting more.
This painting Sheep is now SOLD.
You can also save paying shipping by collecting the painting from my studio in Lucan or meeting me in Dublin for handover.
This painting continues around the sides which are 0.75 inch wide.

Liberty Hall & O’Connell Bridge
16″ x 12″
canvas, unframed
Buy this painting on a card or print - the original is sold.
Standing at the wall of the river Liffey on Dublin’s Aston Quay I love looking at Liberty Hall in its party hat, and at the junction, which I’ve drawn and painted several times, of the bridge with O’Connell Street (Bachelor’s Walk and Eden Quay) - though obviously with the danger of getting lost in a fauvist Liffey.
The painting Liberty Hall and O’Connell Bridge sold direct from the studio.
This painting is painted on the sides which are approximately 0.75 inch wide.

Knockan Stockan Music Festival Photos
It was very wet, it was very windy, it was sometimes sunny, and it was always fabulous. Here’s some photos of Knockan Stockan Music Festival in Wicklow that I took exactly a year ago.
Birds Wires Grass Paintings as Prints
As the original paintings I’ve done to date of the Birds Wires and Rooks Grass pictures are all sold, I’ve now made most of them available as prints together with some other bird paintings. More will be added.
The above picture is a collage of some of the bird paintings available as prints. It links to the Birds print page. Other bird paintings not depicted here will also be available at the link.
Prices start at under 30 USD.
Art Show by Bicycle
Recently I showed some paintings at the People’s Art Exhibition on Stephen’s Green, Dublin. I won’t list all the items this time but paintings, packaging, tools, tea, stool, and everything needed to show the paintings on the railings, were all transported from my studio in Lucan the 15km (9.5 miles) or so to the city centre on my XtraCycle.
Here’s a glimpse of the show with the relevant before and after photos:

I like shapes, and the profile of Howth Head along with the boats of Dun Laoghaire harbour are a favourite collection at any time of day. In this painting it’s clearly a sunny time of day, as the roaring red sky would indicate.
This painting of Dun Laoghaire and Howth Head is now SOLD.

SOLD
A cottage, somewhere rural in Ireland. You’ve seen others I’ve painted, and you’ll see more. This one is THAT cottage, the one I lived in briefly when I thought I was becoming an artist alone in the country, give or take a dog and a bicycle. You can read my cottage chronicles.
Technically speaking it’s Donegal, north Donegal even, and that ridge behind the cottage is the Derryreel Mountains which are just to the north of Muckish.

Painting: Liffey Bridges
Liffey Bridges
14″ x 11″
canvas, painted sides, unframed
Buy this painting on a card or print - the original is sold.
I like a glut of bridges, and because the Liffey bends its way through Dublin’s city centre there are several points to enjoy such views. This particular one is from the south quays looking east to the pedestrian Millenium and Ha’penny bridges, and O’Connell bridge and the Loopline bridge (and Butt bridge too if your eyesight is really good), with Liberty Hall, the Custom House and the IFSC providing the familiar backdrop.
It was of course painted on a particularly orange day, though I must say I really don’t like this photograph of the painting.
The original painting of Liffey Bridges is SOLD but you can purchase it as a print or a card.
This painting is painted on the sides which are approximately 0.75 inch wide.

Painting: Frank Sherwin Bridge, Dublin
Frank Sherwin Bridge
16″ x 12″
canvas, unframed
SOLD
Although Frank Sherwin Bridge does hide many views of Sean Heuston Bridge, it does at least afford newer close-up views of its older cousin. Most times when I’m crossing one I then immediately cross the other. This is only problematic if I actually want to get to the other side of the river.
Technically speaking this is more a painting of Wolfe Tone Quay, or the new Criminal Courts, than Frank Sherwin Bridge specifically, and even more so of the Liffey itself, but you have to give a painting a name.

Frank Sherwin Bridge
Frank Sherwin Bridge is often called the New Heuston Bridge, or in its long form “Is that the one beside the old Heuston Bridge?”, and joins the western ends of Victoria Quay and Wolfe Tone Quay.

Painting: Loopline Bridge, Dublin
Loopline Bridge
16″ x 12″

€165 €125* SOLD
S&H: €11 Worldwide
Some of us never got to appreciate the views of the Custom House unobstructed by the Loopline Bridge, because we’re not 120 years old, so maybe we don’t feel as strongly against it as we should. I like railway bridges and without the advertising hoardings I think the Loopline Bridge looks a lot better than it used to.
Regardless of the impact on the Custom House, it’s not exactly the most exciting railway bridge anyway, but I still like its blocky dark metal crudity, and for me its piers are fairly iconic images of Dublin.

Loopline Bridge
The Loopline Bridge is also called the Liffey Viaduct, but I hear it called that as often as I hear The Ha’penny Bridge called The Liffey Bridge.
